PASADENA, Calif. — While the egg shortage is bad for customers, it’s good for farmers like Jesus Mendez of Chuy Berry Farms, who sells his fruit and eggs at the South Pasadena Farmers Market.

These days, he’s selling twice the amount of eggs that he did before the shortage and raised his prices a dollar to $8 to help offset the recent increase in minimum wage.

"I can sell it for $10, and people buy it," he said. "But I don’t want to do that."
