LOS ANGELES — The Pan African Film and Arts Festival is one of the most prominent Black History Month events in the U.S., celebrating its 31st year as a hub for creativity and storytelling of the Black diaspora.

Premiering at the festival was “Move When the Spirit Says Move,” a new documentary telling the story of educator and civil rights activist Dorothy Foreman Cotton, the only woman on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s executive team.

The festival features over 200 films and an art fair showcasing visual artists and craftspeople from the international community.
