Artist Maurice Sendak is widely known as a master of illustration and storytelling in children's literature for such titles as "Where the Wild Things Are," "In the Night Kitchen," and "Little Bear."

Over 150 artifacts make up Skirball's "Wild Things Are Happening: The Art of Maurice Sendak," which includes original paintings, drawings, videos, and objects. The exhibition showcases the depth and breadth of Sendak's creativity.

The Columbus Museum of Art, where it premiered in October 2022, organized the exhibition.

It is the first major Sendak retrospective since his death in 2012 and the largest and most complete exhibition of his work to date.
