LOS ANGELES — An Ewe woman originally from Ghana, Jojo Abot, now based in Los Angeles, is an artist, performer and healer whose nomadic existence informs her work, which includes sculpture, film, sound, textiles, performance, painting and more. 

“A God of Her Own Making” is Jojo Abot’s first solo show at the LA Louver Gallery in Venice and stems from her opera of the same name. 

The exhibition includes several activations by the artists, including a closing night performance of the opera.
