RIVERSIDE, Calif. — For the past five decades, artist Margaret Garcia’s art has paid reverence to every aspect of her culture and Chicana experience.

Garcia’s art like ‘Janine at 39, Mother of Twins’ forms part of actor and comedian Cheech Marin’s private art collection that is now on display at The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art in Riverside.

The Cheech, as it’s affectionately called, contains what is arguably one of the finest private collections of Chicano art.

It's become a space that invites the public to see themselves, their culture and daily life through the artist’s lens.
