LOS ANGELES — Composer Dylan Mattingly and librettist Thomas Bartscherer began working on their opera “Stranger Love” 11 years ago. 

The opera, which had its world premiere at Walt Disney Concert Hall, runs for six hours and includes a dinner intermission.

The production features choreography by Inglewood native Chris Emile, and Contemporaneous Ensemble performed the music.
