“Jean-Michel Basquiat: King Pleasure” is the first art exhibition to open at the Frank Gehry-designed Grand LA in downtown Los Angeles.
Presented by the Basquiat family, “King Pleasure” spans four gallery spaces at The Grand LA and includes hundreds of items never-before-seen by the public, including artwork, ephemera and even recreations of the Basquiat family home and the artist’s New York studio space.
A rising star in the international art scene in the 1980s, Jean-Michel Basquiat passed away from an accidental drug overdose in 1988 at 27 years old.
