LOS ANGELES — Shepard Fairey takes a retrospective look at his career spanning 30 years. In his exhibition Facing the Giant: 3 Decades of Dissent & New Works, he reimagines his iconic Andre the Giant sticker.
The "Giant" was the catalyst for his transformation from a 19-year-old punk in Rhode Island to an outspoken world-renowned artist and activist at the age of 49.
In conversation with anchor Alex Cohen, Fairey discussed the meaning of the "Giant" beyond Andre, as a larger commentary on those with power who loom large in our daily lives.
The exhibition is available at Over the Influence in the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District until Sunday, December 29.
