LOS ANGELES — Electric vehicles are all the rage at this year's LA Auto Show. For 20-year-old TikTok influencer Drake Moschkau, the Indi One — the first car from California automaker Indi EV — has something that the rest don't.

"This car, its focus on the super computer and content creating, I think is a really unique way to go about the electric vehicle and will definitely set it apart," Moschkau said.

What You Need to Know

  • The Indi One is the first product from California automaker Indi EV

  • It features the Vehicle Integrated Computer, or VIC, the first ever in-vehicle integrated high-end computer capable of high-end gaming

  • Other features include a complete Windows workstation that provides unique capabilities, like the ability to select and use multiple surround and internal cameras during Zoom calls and record events that can be shared on a variety of social media platforms

  • Advanced software allows riders to capture content on trips with multiple interior and exterior cameras, livestream videos, and even shoot, edit and upload content to the cloud

Moschkau turned his longtime passion for cars into creating content on TikTok and YouTube during the pandemic.

Now hundreds of thousands of followers later, he's become a car influencer, even getting stopped by fans while walking through the auto show.

But the INDI ONE piques his interest because it's designed to complement the lifestyles of social media-savvy Millennial and Gen Z drivers like himself.

“I find it a very useful vehicle, especially those on-board cameras, to be able to record inside the vehicle, I would definitely use that to make videos, to post on YouTube or my TikTok," said Moschkau.

But don't worry, even though Indi One records while driving, making videos can only happen when the vehicle is parked.

At the Indi EV showroom in Beverly Hills, Head of Product Design Andre Hudson's vision was to create the Indi One not only as an electric vehicle but one that serves as an extension of drivers' smartphones.

It's equipped with an onboard suite of cameras both inside and out, microphones and an audio system, and a supercomputer called "VIC" allows people to document their lives and share it with the world.

"Because you have the VIC onboard, and the applications here at fingertip, you can technically edit, alter and produce content while out and about or on the run and on the move, and upload those real time to your social media accounts," Hudson said.

While creating and posting on social media from anywhere is important to Moschkau, so is the environment.

He said electric vehicles are the future as his generation is concerned about global warming.

"We're seeing the impacts of climate change and definitely reducing our emissions is something that is a constant topic of conversation among my friends and I," Moschkau said.
