Lauren Pozen joined the Spectrum News 1 SoCal team in May 2021.

She graduated from USC with a degree from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and it has always been a dream of hers to report in her hometown.

Pozen has traveled across the country working at different news stations, often in crime and human interest stories. Prior to being on-screen, she worked for household names like Dr. Phil and Ryan Seacrest. Pozen has also covered The Oscars and Primetime Emmy Awards. She is excited to be a part of the Spectrum News 1 team now that shares her passion for storytelling.

She is a competitive equestrian and loves all animals. One of her most meaningful stories was about a pit bull sanctuary for abused and rescued dogs. Thanks to the man who ran the sanctuary, these dogs were cared for and lived cage free. She believes the power in storytelling comes from the ability to encourage change. She often likes to follow up—even after a story has aired—to see where they are and how, if anything, has changed.

When Pozen isn’t reporting, you may find her volunteering at a local animal shelter or at the beach.
