LOS ANGELES — Pollution, noise and air plane traffic are some of the many issues that are top of mind for voters who live in Los Angeles City Council District 6, which has been without representation since Nury Martinez resigned her Council seat last October after she was caught on audio making racist remarks.
As the district prepares to elect a new council member in a special election on April 4, some voters who live near the Van Nuys Airport say they’ve experienced an increase in noise and pollution due to increased jet traffic over the past few years and hope the winning candidate will hear their concerns and find a workable solution.
