SIERRA BLANCA, Texas — An actor was arrested at the U.S.-Mexico border after he had been charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing his estranged girlfriend in Los Angeles, authorities said.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that Nick Pasqual, 34, had been charged with attempted murder; first-degree residential burglary; and injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiance, boyfriend, girlfriend or child’s parent.
On May 23, Pasqual, who is best known for his minor roles in "How I Met Your Mother" and "America’s Most Wanted," allegedly broke into the Sunland home of his ex-girlfriend and stabbed her multiple times.
Pasqual then allegedly left the home and was later detained at a border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas.
While authorities have not identified the victim, Entertainment Tonight has reported that it is Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn, and a GoFundMe has been set up to help cover Sheron’s medical bills. It has already raised over $90,000.
Before the assault, a restraining order had been filed against Pasqual.
“My thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with the victim in this horrific incident,” District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement. “Our office, including our Bureau of Victim Services, extends our support and resources to her as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from both the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon her.”
If convicted, Pasqual could face life in prison.
