SAN DIEGO — Urban Surf 4 Kids has been offering a surf therapy camp for foster kids to help them heal from childhood trauma.
The nonprofit, which is based out of San Diego, has helped more than 6,400 kids with mentorship both in and out of the water.
Matthew Scheck took part in the first session of the 2023 season in La Jolla.
“Whenever I’m having a bad day or like a bad week, coming to Urban Surf, it just makes everything better," Matthew said.
