SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. – A fire was ignited when a Metrolink train hit an RV Friday morning in Santa Fe Springs.

Train 681 collided with the RV around 6 a.m. on the train tracks near Marquardt and Rosecrans Avenues.

Whittier police are handling the investigation into the crash. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes while the scene is still active.

The tracks were closed between Buena Park and Norwall Santa Fe Springs stations. The train was en route from Orange County to Los Angeles.

Metrolink tweeted that there is now a delay up to two hours or more for commuters. Passengers of trains 681, 601, 603, 701, and 700 with a valid ticket can be reimbursed up to $50 for alternate transportation, like Uber, taxi, or Lyft.

No one was injured in the crash.
