WRIGHTWOOD, Calif. -- The tattoo on Diane Peacock’s arm says “Happy Hubbard Day," after a nickname her son TJ had given to her based on the nursery rhyme, "Old Mother Hubbard."

It’s one of her last treasured memories of TJ as he struggled with brain cancer.

"Not that I need anything to remind me of him, but it's something that means alot to me," she said.

TJ Peacock was known for his great smile and amazing courage. Just before his 14th birthday, the family learned his persistent headache was a brain tumor, and one of the most aggressive kinds of cancer.

When TJ died, Peacock made a promise to spend the rest of her life trying to help other families navigate the difficult road she has traveled.

So she created TJ’s Dream Team, HEAD-ing for a Cure, a social media outreach and community fundraising effort that supports research at local hospitals.

"We call it TJ's Dream Team because that was our dream, to put an end to this disease," Peacock said.

TJ’s Dream Team also funds a scholarship at Warren High School in Downey to give student athletes a boost toward college.

Peacock wants everyone to show support for cancer patients and survivors everywhere.
