UC Santa Barbara student Ana Sofia Guerra has been tracking the eating habits of western gulls that nest on Anacapa and Santa Barbara islands in the Channel Islands archipelago.

She's found that sea gulls are willing to try just about any type of people food including In-N-Out, Vietnamese food and corn dogs.

Los Angeles Times reporter Deborah Netburn stopped by the LA Times Today studio to talk about the ongoing study and how the gulls' eating habits can affect their homes on the Channel Islands.
