In 1971, the Porto family escaped Cuba and came to Los Angeles in pursuit of the American Dream. A true testament to the fact that hard work and dedication pays off, Rosa and her family went on to build a bakery empire.
Known for their famous potato balls and "refugiados" - guava and cheese pastries - Porto's Bakery is a mainstay in Los Angeles.
Today, Betty and her family honor their mother’s legacy with every treat they serve at each one of their popular locations in L.A. and Orange County, California.
