In Focus: SoCal host Tanya McRae highlights Domestic Violence Awareness Month by heading to the Jenesse Center, which is celebrating 40 years of prevention and intervention services to the community.
The center's director of training and programs, Dr. Angela Parker, discusses the programs offered at Jenesse to help prevent future generations from falling into the cycle of violence. She goes through the steps on how to create a safety plan if you're in an abusive relationship.
McRae also sits down with Alice Brown, who works with clients at the center. Brown shares her story of domestic abuse, and how she's turning her trauma into her calling by helping to heal others.
In Focus: SoCal also takes a look at how the state continues to educate the public about the ongoing pandemic through an initiative called Listos California.
