With the Russian war against Ukraine causing LA gas prices to spike eight cents in a single day to more than $5 per gallon, Americans are likely to put the brakes on gas consumption. That’s according to a new 2022 gas survey from the personal finance website, WalletHub. The survey found:
- 53% of Americans plan to buy less gas in 2022 compared to 2021
- 64% of Americans blame either President Biden or gas companies for the high gas prices
- 141 million people dislike high gas prices more than bad traffic
- 126 million Americans say the price of gas is very important in their daily life
- 55% of people choose where to get gas based on price
- 70% of people consider the price of gas when making travel plans
