LOS ANGELES — Homelessness and how best to handle the ongoing difficulties surrounding it was front of mind for participants in LA’s mayoral race Sunday night.
Several candidates said that, if elected, they would commit to building thousands of low-income housing units.
But some people experiencing homelessness still balk at the idea of restrictive housing measures.
While ordinances are in place across the city banning camping on certain streets and near specific sites such as parks, libraries and schools, many have not been enforced.
