LOS ANGELES — May saw several high profile movies underperform at the box office including "The Fall Guy" and "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga."

Moving into June and July, "Inside Out 2" (Disney/Pixar) has surpassed $1 billion globally, and "Despicable Me 4," the Illumination Animation sequel, led the way with $122.6 million in domestic ticket sales since opening on July 3.

Later summer releases are also expected to perform well, including "Twisters" and "Deadpool & Wolverine," which is projected to earn $160 million in its opening weekend.
