LOS ANGELES — Actor and television personality Anderson Anderson has been named host of the upcoming Primetime Emmy Awards, The Fox network announced Wednesday.

Anderson is a seven-time leading comedy actor nominee for his role in ABC's hit series "black-ish" and recently hosted the music gaming series "We Are Family" on Fox.

Anderson is no stranger to headlining an awards show — he served as host of the NAACP Image Awards for eight years.

The ceremony, which was originally scheduled for Sept. 18, will be held Jan. 15, 2024, at downtown Los Angeles' Peacock Theater at the LA Live complex. The show moved into Hollywood's traditional awards season due to this year's actors' and writers' strikes.

“Succession” is the leading nominee for its final season, with other HBO series like “The White Lotus” and “The Last of Us” also receiving multiple nominations.
