LOS ANGELES (CNS) — "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" each earned a leading five nominations Tuesday for the second annual Critics Choice Super Awards, while "Evil" and "Midnight Mass" each collected six nods to lead the TV categories.
The awards honor film and TV genres including superheroes, science fiction/fantasy, horror and action.
"Spider-Man" and "Shang-Chi" were both nominated for best superhero movie, along with "Black Widow," "Eternals," "The Suicide Squad" and "Zack Snyder's Justice League."
Nominations for best science-fiction/fantasy movie went to "Don't Look Up," "Dune," "Free Guy," "The Green Knight," "The Mitchells vs. the Machines" and "Swan Song."
On the small screen, "Doom Patrol," "Hawkeye," "Loki," "Lucifer," "Superman & Lois" and "WandaVision" were nominated for best superhero series.
"Evil" and "Midnight Mass" both scored nods for best horror series, along with "Chucky," "Dr. Death," "Servant" and "Yellowjackets."
Winners will be announced March 17. A format for the awards show was not immediately announced.
