Columbus, OH -- A short time ago the Ohio State House Legislature passed a controversial heartbeat bill - that will ban abortions after the six week mark.

Ohio is one of ten state who have conceived this type of legislation, that bans abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which is usually around the six week mark.

There's a ton of fine print in this bill, including a rule where 24 hours before the procedure, a woman must meet with a physician, this is not the physician that will perform the procedure, it is a different physician, and they have to meet at a place outside of where the procedure will happen.  This is one of many, many rules in this bill.  But critics say the biggest issue is that at six weeks, many women don't know that they're pregnant, and by that point, it's too late.

Another part of the fine print reads, "Whover is guilty of performing or inducing an abortion before determining whether there is a detectable fetal heartbeat" will be hit with a fifth degree felony.

Thursday the bill hit the house - next it's expected to sail through the Senate.  It's likely then doomed for a veto by Governor Kasich, but some say, it's only a matter of time before a new iteration will be ready for the new Governor's eager pen.
