FANCY FARM, Ky. -- Every year on the first Saturday of August, the eyes of the political world focuses on a small town with a population of less than 500 in western Kentucky.

Candidates running for office make the pilgrimage to the Annual Picnic at Fancy Farm to play bingo and horseshoes, eat amazing barbecue from the pit and engage in a no-holds-barred exchange with voters and other elected officials.

This unique blend of home cooking, community spirit and political theater is why more than 10,000 people attend the Fancy Farm Picnic each year.
