Clif Bar & Company has issued a voluntary recall for three of its protein bars for the possible presence of undeclared peanuts and tree nuts, including Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans and walnuts, the company said this week in a statement.

The products impacted by the recall include Clif Builder's bar chocolate mint, Clif Kid ZBar in chocolate mint and Clif Kid ZBar in chocolate chip. They were all sold in retail stores and online throughout the United States.

The recall was issued after the company received a number of consumer complaints alleging peanut or tree nut allergic reactions. There are no confirmed illnesses associated with this recall, according to the recall alert on the U.S. Food & Drug Administration's website.

Clif Bar & Company is asking consumers to return the product to the store where it was purchased to request an exchange or full refund if there is an allergy concern.
