  • Storm, 5, is described as 4 feet tall and 'laid-back unless startled'
  • FHP troopers using drones to try to find the marsupial

The owner of the sanctuary made the discovery Tuesday morning, according to The Palm Beach Post.

Since then, the 5-year-old, 4-foot kangaroo has been spotted hopping around the Jupiter Farms area.

Officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, local agencies and Florida Highway Patrol troopers are currently searching for the animal. The Associated Press reported that troopers are using a pair of drones to try to find Storm.

A video posted to Facebook shows the kangaroo hopping down one neighborhood street.

"Only in Jupiter Farms do kangaroos hop down your street," wrote Denise Cooper, who recorded the video.

The public is advised not to approach the kangaroo, though its owner told the Post that he's laid-back unless startled.

Wildlife officers are hoping to tranquilize Storm and return him to the owner.
