ASHEBORO, N.C. -- The North Carolina Zoo has joined as a full member of the Conservation Center for Special Survival.

The organization is a cooperative group of large conservation facilities in North America dedicated to the preservation of wildlife.

C2S2 works with zoos who have large ares of non-public land to provide habitat and breed species that don't typically breed well in traditional zoo habitats in front of the public, like American red wolves and cheetahs.

With 2,600 acres of land, the NC Zoo makes C2S2 an ideal partner facility.

C2S2 also has several programs that complement the work at the zoo including the Addra Gazelle and other African hoof stock.
