We’re ending our weekend on a dry note, but showers are not too far off in the distance.

Today, expect a mix of sun and clouds, with clouds increasing later in the day, especially for areas along the Ohio River.  A weak cold front will also be moving through the state, but will not bring chances for rain.  However, it will help to create slightly cooler temperatures for the western third of the Commonwealth.  Highs today will be near to above average for areas near I-65 and points east, in the middle 50s to low 60s. Farther west, we’ll only reach the low 50s.

As another area of low pressure rides north along the slow-moving cold front, showers will become likely later this evening, after dark, in our far western counties.  Then, showers will overspread the state during the overnight and early Monday morning.  It looks to possibly be a wet morning commute, especially for communities east of I-65. Rainfall amounts will be light, mainly less than 0.25’’.

For the rest of the week, heading into Thanksgiving, the weather pattern looks very quiet with dry conditions and temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s for the holiday.
