Oscar made landfall over eastern Cuba over the weekend with heavy rains and strong winds. It's the 15th named storm of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season.

  • The storm is expected to head northeast and eventually out into the Atlantic

  • It won't directly affect the southeast U.S. coast, but will produce dangerous surf conditions later this week

Oscar has max winds of 40 mph and is only moving at 6 mph to the northwest. Conditions in eastern Cuba should improve as the storm is expected to move out to sea later this week. Dangerous surf conditions are expected along the southeast U.S. coast as Oscar heads well off the east coast into the Atlantic.

It will not affect the U.S.
