OHIO — Lake-effect snow showers are persistent, and we are expecting more reduced visibility from blowing and drifting snow for drivers in northern Ohio.

  • Lake-effect snow warnings continue through 4am Friday for most of the snowbelt

  • Ashtabula will see a lake-effect snow warning through 1 a.m. Saturday

  • Friday will remain very cold but with less wind
  • Our warmup and snowmelt begins this weekend

Some snow showers that are coming in from Lake Michigan will move into parts of northwest and north-central Ohio through late Thursday.

Additional snow accumulations of 1-3" in the counties under a winter alert are possible.

Snow totals from Wednesday night/early Thursday are 2 to 8 inches.

For the Friday morning commute, we see more single digit wind chills.

Highs on Friday will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s but it will feel like it's in the teens.

Overnight and early Friday morning snow will be focused in eastern counties near PA.

Ashtabula, Trumbull and Mahoning counties will likely be dealing with snow for the early commute.

Snow showers will remain focused in Ashtabula county through early Saturday.

Our much needed break from snow will be most of Saturday through early next week.

Our next storm system will be rain on Monday as highs get close to 50°.

This means with melting snow, we could see some localized flooding or drainage issues.
