OHIO — Starting Jan. 1, 2025, drivers going along the Ohio Turnpike will notice an increase in rates.
Toll rates for E-ZPass customers with Class 1 passenger vehicles will increase by 7.1 cents per mile from 6.5 cents per mile. The cash/credit card toll rate will increase to 10.4 cents per mile from 9.6 cents per mile.
For Class 5 commercial vehicles, E-ZPass customers will see an increase of 22 cents per mile. For those with cash or credit card, it’ll increase by 27.6 cents.
Next year, the Ohio Turnpike Commission said the full trip toll fare for traveling westbound on the 241-mile turnpike from Pennsylvania to Indiana will increase by the following:
- E-ZPass customers with passenger vehicles will cost $18.50, a $1.50 increase from 2024
- Cash and credit card customers with passenger vehicles will pay $27, up $1.75
- E-ZPass customers with commercial vehicles will pay $57.50, up $4.25
- Cash and credit card customers with commercial vehicles will pay $72.25, up $5.25
The costs will also increase for full trip eastbound from Indiana to Pennsylvania by the following:
- E-ZPass customers with passenger vehicles will cost $15.50, a $1.25 increase from 2024
- Cash and credit card customers with passenger vehicles will pay $22.75, up $1.50
- E-ZPass customers with commercial vehicles will pay $48.50, up $3.50
- Cash and credit card customers with commercial will pay $61, up $4.50
“Despite the rising costs of highway construction and bridge projects, the Ohio Turnpike’s toll rates still rank among of the lowest in the country,” The Ohio Turnpike Commission wrote in a release. “E-ZPass customers will continue to save an average of 33% on Ohio Turnpike tolls compared to customers who pay by cash or credit card.”
