LEXINGTON, Ky -- The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation is entering its 25th year of hosting the Southern Lights holiday festival which attracts over 120,000 visitors each year.

Vistiors range from those in Kentucky to surrounding states and is regularly chosen as a Top 20 Event in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT SOUTHERN LIGHTS

Given record turnouts in 2017, Southern Lights recommends visiting on a weeknight due to the lines being shorter and the ticket price is lower. Also it's suggested to arrive as close as possible to opening time (5:30 pm) as the lines are typically shorter and there is more time to visit the Holiday Festival (non-driving) attractions in the park's interior!

With over three miles of lights, Southern Lights has added additional holiday displays along the driven route and expanded its Holiday Festival attractions to enjoy on foot.

After driving through the lights, guests are invited to park and enjoy the attractions in the park’s interior, which are designed to entertain every member of the family-from local crafts, model trains and mini train rides, visits with Santa, and even an exotic petting zoo. These additional Holiday Festival attractions are open every night except November 24 and December 24-31.
