WILBRAHAM, Mass. - An annual Thanksgiving luncheon was held at the Wilbraham Senior Center on Thursday.
Dozens of seniors gathered for turkey, mashed potatoes and greens for the first time in their new building which opened this past spring.
The facility also received a $5,000 donation from Spectrum to help support their programs.
Wilbraham's Select Board Chair Susan Bunnell said the money will go towards the center's many recreational programs like group yoga and art classes, while making them more financially accessible.
Bunnell said the senior population in the town has grown over the years so having additional aid is a big health benefit to the community.
"People are living much more vibrant fuller lives later into their aging than had been historically the case decades ago," Bunnell said. "So having this kind of opportunity for folks to gather, learn and expand their opportunities is just delightful."
The Wilbraham Senior Center will be continuing its holiday tradition with its annual 'Holiday Bazaar' next Saturday, Nov. 23 for the first time in their new facility.
