WORCESTER, Mass. – When you're a senior in high school and you're a football player, it can be a little bittersweet, knowing it's your last time playing in high school.

The seniors on the Doherty football team are excited for their last ride.

"As this being my senior year, I'm very excited," said co-captain Carlos Tumer. "I mean, it's the last hurrah that we get, and I"m really excited to play."

"I'm very excited," said co-captain Ben Gniadek. "It's a little nerve wracking. It's the last one, but I'm excited to see how we do and see if we can get some good wins."

"I'm really excited knowing it's senior year," said co-captain Joshua Romeo. "I need to have a great season."

Doherty opens its season on Sept. 13 at Algonquin.
