WORCESTER, Mass. - A Worcester city councilor is looking for ways to improve litter and garbage issues near Polar Park.
Councilor Moe Bergman says he wants the City to be able to showcase the ballpark, but more needs to be done to keep the streets around it clean.
He's hoping team leaders, business owners, and city leaders can work together to help clean up the area.
Bergman says the area around the Green Street overpass is a big area of concern.
“In general, the ballpark gives a good impression,” Bergman said in an interview Tuesday.. “It's fairly clean, but where there are pockets of homeless populations, there are obviously leftover trash and that becomes an issue and there are numerous pockets in and around the ballpark."
Bergman is addressing the issue at Tuesday night’s council meeting.
He says it's a win-win for everyone if the city and its neighbors can work together to keep the area clean.
