WORCESTER, Mass. - Mechanics Hall will reopen to the public Thursday with its first show since March 2020.

The facility has given out tickets to about 120 people for the free show so far.

It will feature their new composer in residence, Leonardo Ciampa. Executive Director Kathleen Gagne says it's been quiet at the hall over the last 18 months and she’s excited to see people back.

"A building like this is so special it needs to be seen, it needs to be used, people need to be in it," Gagne said. "It was very lonesome here for many months. It didn't feel right. I’m grateful were heading into a busier time than we've seen for the last 18 months or so."

Gagne says she's also happy to bring her staff back.

Thursday's show starts at 7:30 p.m.
