WORCESTER, Mass. - If you're feeling nostalgic and want to relive some fun parts of your childhood, a new bar in West Boylston could help.
On Saturday, The School Yahd held a grand opening. The 20,000 square foot facility is filled with tons of games including oversize board games, table tennis and whiffle ball.
They hope to have their kitchen ready soon, which will feature some American childhood favorites like grilled cheese and tater tots and will be stocked with local craft beers. The School Yahd will have both specialty times for families as well as 18-plus nights for adults.
"The whole nostalgia, a whole play on games, ping pong," said co-owner Eric Matta. "We are going to be bringing in badminton, because that was just fun to do when you were younger and something you haven't seen in a while. We are just excited to have a place where you can hangout and feel like a kid again."
"We really wanted to bring back the best parts of being a kid," co-owner Caraline Giguere said. "Playing games with your friends, all the fun snack from the 90s, those are my favorites. Even the art and graffiti and bring back those parts of being a kid, to remember a simpler time."
The School Yahd is by appointment only to start.
