WORCESTER, Mass. - Connor Schmautz and Evan McCarthy engaged in a pitchers duel that all who witnessed or played in will be talking about for years to come.

The game was scoreless through seven innings with less than a handful of hits total between the two teams.

Schmautz and McCarthy were masterful in mixing their pitches and throwing with confidence regardless of the count.  Twice in extra innings Shrewsbury scored a run, and twice Leominster answered in the bottom half of the inning with their backs against the wall.

In the bottom of the 11th inning,  Post 151 plated two runs to get the dramatic walk of win, 3-2.  Because of a lengthy rain delay in the earlier playoff game, the Shrewsbury and Leominster game started about 10 p.m. and didn't finish until 1 a.m.

Our Kevin Shea declares this was a great game and an instant classic.
