NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - A fundraising campaign for the family of fallen U.S. Capitol Police officer William "Billy" Evans has raised over $330,000 for his family.
Evans was killed in the line of duty on April 2 when a man drove his vehicle into Evans and another officer at a barricade in Washington, D.C.
According to the GoFundMe page, all proceeds from the campaign will be put into a trust in his children's name. The money will be used to help support them for the coming months and years.
Officer Evans grew up in Berkshire County and graduated from Drury High School before serving 18 years with the Capitol Police.
