The Worcester Red Sox kicked off their inaugural season in Trenton, N.J. on Tuesday night.
It was not the season opener Worcester fans were hoping for as the WooSox fell to the Buffalo Bison, 6 - 1.
Red Sox top prospect Tanner Houck threw the first pitch in a Worcester jersey, but only went three innings and gave up three runs.
The offense was only able to muster up one run after second baseman Jonathan Araúz beat out a grounder to short for an r-b-i infield single.
The two teams will play again Wednesday night. The frst pitch is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
After their opening week series against the Bisons, the WooSox will return home to Polar Park on Tuesday, May 11 for their home opener against the Syracuse Mets.
